Purpose: The main focus of the learning in this Knowledge Unit is to build an understanding of the sector context to practice as an Early Childhood Practitioner. It considers a broad overview of the history of the industry and the progress that has been made. Then it dives into the definitions, concepts, and principles of the industry followed by the various age groupings and their development phases physically, emotionally, and socially.

How you will be Assessed:
This programme has been aligned with a registered standard and the Curriculum as set out by the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO). You will be assessed against the outcomes of the curriculum by completing knowledge-based assignments that cover the outcomes stipulated. At the end of the programme, you will be required to take a written exam as prepared by the QCTO. On successful completion of the exam, you will be issued a Certificate of Competence.
